I’m Mira (she/her) and I’m so glad you’re here.

I love to work with individuals longing for access to rest, nervous system repair, and relief from symptoms of trauma, as well as teens living with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. With over a decade of experience working closely with youth and adults in clinical and educational settings, my offerings are trauma-informed, justice-centered, LGBTQIA+ affirming & sex positive, and are available for anyone with feelings and a body.

My approach is relationship - focused, often playful, and always embodied.

What does that mean?

Relationship - focused: consistently proven in the research on what makes psychotherapy effective, the relationship between the client and the therapist is the primary tool for healing. It’s practice for all your other relationships; your relationship to yourself and other people, including partners, parents, friends, and children. And it’s an opportunity to practice secure attachment, trust, and safety with another person (me!)

Playful: Let’s enjoy each other’s company. I’m a goofball, and I hope you are too. Therapy doesn’t have to involve suffering, or at the very least, can involve just as much joy.

Embodied: Since there’s nowhere for your feelings to happen besides your body, the body is the foundation of your emotional experience and where you begin to heal.

A graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Naropa University, with an emphasis on Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling, I’m is a body-based therapist with a gentle and attuned approach. I’m known for being deeply silly and equally sincere in my orientation to therapy. I have extensive experience as a teacher and facilitator of youth and adults, and has worked in a multitude of school settings with youngsters, as well as in adult-centered settings. Educational settings include work at Credo High School, Sebastopol Charter School, and Wilderness Torah.

My approach is trauma-informed, justice-centered, LGBTQIA+ affirming & sex positive.

With training in Buddhist and secular methods of mindfulness, and inspired by the techniques of Gestalt, Hakomi, and Internal Family Systems therapeutic methods, my approach therapy aims to help you connect with your body, calm your nervous system, and feel grounded in the present moment. Outside of my one-on-one therapeutic work, I serve as a facilitator in Jewish and sex-positive spaces.
